Picto Diary - 29, 30, 31 August 2021 - Reflecting on Afghanistan while walking Freddie

Short term, we must do everything possible to arrange for the exit of Americans and America's Afghan friends, now vulnerable to Taliban persecution, from Afghanistan left behind due to the botched exit operation. Longer term, we should oust current, inept, military leaders and strengthen our fighting capability to intimidate the bad actors we have emboldened by our own foreign affairs clumsiness.

Top of mind ride memories: riding in heavy winds from Las Cruces, NM to El Paso, TX.; a four hundred mile loop, just Joe and me, from Auburn, CA that took in Alturas, CA and Pyramid lake; trying to keep up with Joe and Elk as they raced down US 95 between Grangeville, ID and Riggins, ID; watching humpback whales in Guerrero Negro, Mexico lagoon... and many more great ride memories.

Caleb Chapman Soundhouse principal band, The Crescent Super Band, is on the main stage program.... quite an accomplishment for a band of fifteen to eighteen year olds. They play in the same program as well known professional jazz ensembles.
