DeSantis’s Florida Is a Dump, Says President Trump - WSJ

Trump has to be Trump, so his attack on Florida (where he chose to live) is not surprising. DeSantis' challenge is to push back aggressively against "the beast." Positive, rousing stemwinders such as I saw him adeptly give to a very friendly audience of fellow travelers at the Utah Pub Convention last weekend aren't going to cut it.

I'm not sure DeSantis will run. He may think the destroy Trump tack isn't worth it and wait for his moment in 2028. He may not have the internal fortitude for the fight necessary to take out his opponent. He has a great message about Florida. He may be safer, politically, staying there to build on the FL message. I think this was, at least in part, Pompeo's calculation getting out of the race.
