No More Colorado River Water for California
Give no quarter to California on Colorado River water. California has plenty of water (scroll LA Times article link). Upper Colorado River compact states should not bear the cost of irresponsible California water management.
1. 1MM acre feet per annum San Juaquin River needlessly flowing out to sea to save the not even indigenous Delta Smelt fish.
2. No capture...none!! of any water falling on coastal ranges. Big Bear water flows into the sea.
3. Current reservoir capability capturing Sierra snow melt is half of what was once planned by Governor Pat Brown in early 1960's. Brown's son, Governor Jerry Brown, discarded his father's California water plans.
4. 1.1-million-acre feet Klamath River flows out to sea. 1950 diversion project facilitating water to southern California jettisoned.
