Needed some steps. Never hiked here in 15 years, embarrassed to say.

Duc, alone in the lot. Nobody here but us chickens. It's warm out, pushing 90 degrees.

Out riding the Duc. Here, about 100 miles from Park City.
Above: Simon Bamberger. Governor of Utah 1913 to 1917.
Utah's only Jewish governor and one of only three Jewish governors from any state.
The monument, one of Utah's true oddities, was built, "out in the middle of nowhere, by FDR's Civilian Conservation Corps road builders in the 1930's.

His Highness in the foreground, futzes with his BMW R1200 RT motorcycle. Bishop Duc is at right. Commodore Slingshot in rear.

Commodore and His Highness compare notes. Bishop Duc in front.
The is a special observation spot on UT SR 36 which links Huntington, in Emory County, with Fairview (to the west) in Sanpete County.
Looking west, to the rear of the image subjects, much of Utah's western desert ranges can be seen, including the Pahvants, the San Pitch, the Tintics, and the House.
Here we are at 9600 feet of elevation.

Rafters in the river. Commodor sits in Slingshot, left. Duc at right.
As a kid, I'd take an inner tube down this same section.

So taken with my Round Valley walking/hiking two days ago, I persuade my friends to check it out.
Above: Bishop and his barber, Dara Taylor (no relation that we know about), "Taylor's On Top" Barber Shop. 33rd South, across from Dans, Salt Lake City, UT. 03 August 2017.
Friendly, meticulous, careful. She also teaches at a barber training school.
Dara' favorite is TIMDT who schedules the hair cuts at about three times the frequency that I would do.
I've been the cycle... barbers as a kid, big city salons for that metrosexual touch, Great Clips and such, back to the barber... Dara.
In the day, female barbers were not common... probably still not so much.
A couple of years ago, I asked the guide at a tea plantation in southern India, why only women were picking the tea leaves. He replied that women have smaller hands and, therefore, can more easily pick the small, tender tea leaves without wasting them. Also, he reported, men are unreliable as they often come back from lunch inebriated.
Female barber parallel? Just sayin'.
Since I don't work for Google, they can't fire me for making the above observation.
Addendum
Hey Steve,
Long time without a reciprocal connection. I hope this finds you and yours well and thriving. From your photo journals, it looks like they are. I always enjoy your emails, particularly on the motorcycle junkets. Very adventurous. I gave up riding about 15 years ago when I realized I had gone from a sound, defensive rider to a paranoid one, always looking for a bad thing to happen. In short, it stopped being fun for me. But, I enjoy it vicariously.
