New mayor's supporters exult in her victory. Incumbent mayor, Andy Beerman, was defeated by Nann Worel, who promised more transparency from City Hall, fewer outre agendas, and a commitment to listen to heretofore shut out city constituencies. Party was hosted by J. K. Kenworthy, owner Flanigans, and vocal supporter of Nann Worel. Also present were Tana Toly and Jeremy Rubell, victors in the contest amongst three candidates for two city counsel seats. Incumbent city councilman, Tim Henny, was defeated in his effort to retain his seat.
New city government has a raft of challenges. Affordable housing. Covid refugees moving into the area have impacted average home values which have increased by over 40% in two years. Attracting workers to a geography with average house prices now exceeding $900 thousand is increasingly difficult. Transportation issues loom, as always. New parking lot build-out projects at PCMR and Deer Valley will increase traffic. Developments outside of the city in Summit and Wasatch Counties loom. A need for regional cooperation between government entities seems critical to assure intelligent build-out of the Wasatch Back.

Grandpa is not a novice at pulling trailers, but, this is the first time he's pulled a trailer containing a horse. Grandpa is fascinated with Balou's "hard to get the hay" feed bag. He wonder's if a similar device could be developed for humans as a weight reduction solution.
