On 08 August 2017, in a back-country motorcycle accident, near Buena Vista, Colorado, Bishop suffered fractured tibia plateau on his right leg. On 13 August 2017 the leg was "repaired" with a titanium plate and eleven screws.

Dr. Davis today: "Steve, I think we have a top five percentile recovery going on here. Ordinarily, I would say come back and see me in six months. But, if you still feel OK by then, you don't need to bother coming in."

I'm now 100% weight bearing sans use of crutches. No pain. Stiffness and swelling remains. I've targeted resuming skiing around the first week of February.
