Picto Diary - 04 July 2016 - Cartwheel

Look quickly or you'll miss her. She's moving fast! ... she's gearing up for a cartwheel.

Wes is son of Mezz and Magnolia. He and friends are visiting from Dallas, TX.

We set up seventeen chairs. Harder and harder each year to get a space. Ten years ago I would go over at 4:00 AM on the fourth to set up chairs. Now, if you're not there by 9:00 PM of the third, you're not likely to find a space, at least here, on the east side of lower Main.

Attending: TIMDT and Mwah (sic), Maui, Garland 7, B1B, FeeBee and Bud (Mynduveroan in parade), and Wes, Megan, Emily, and Kegan.

I lifted this image off of Facebook. Here are 'Cake's own words to describe the activity:

"Cooking up a storm at our Park City Sunrise Rotary's annual 4th of July BBQ. Proud of all the great participation by our members and thank you to all our sponsors who thru their donations allow us to give all of the proceeds away to local non-profits."

In past years I have resisted going to the City Park barbeque. The Bishop don't do lines. This year, it looked like a production manager had been hired to streamline the whole operation. There were four lines into the food... dogs, brats, and burgers prepared minutes before, and ready to grab as you walked by. I actually bought a hot dog (with Guzzi's assistance) this year!

Mucho contrats to Park City Rotary who orchestrated the barbeque.

What's wrong with this image?

First (two years ago) they don't put a color guard in the parade. The have to be cajoled to put one in the next year. Now this. An American Flag has draped the front of the barn on the Fourth all the years we've lived here. Not this year.

Does Park City have a problem with patriotism?

Addendum:

I still have my card. : - )
