Picto Diary - 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 September 2016

Bud and TIMDT observe. Mynduveroan. Great defender in Park City victory!

Bud can dream about future accomplishments on this inauspicious day.

Above: TIMDT observes cow and calf moose. Park City, UT. 11 September 2016.

Outrageous! Moose stripping leaves from TIMDT's newly planted crab apple tree. Is there no respect for private property anymore?

Above: Squirrel observing moose from our front step. Park City, UT. 11 September 2016.

Outrageous. We gave no permission for the squirrel to use this observation point!

Above: Five (of 11) Birthdays celebration. Park City, UT. 12 September 2016.

Above: Bud and PCPD fireman. 1:30 AM. Park City, UT. 13 September 2016.

Bud watches his home burn. Was he numb as he was watching, like I was? Or, was this somewhat of an adventure?

Fire started with reading lamp falling on bedding in Mynduveroan's room as she slept.

Smoke alarms did their job awakening the family and alerting fire station. Dad tried to douse the fire as Mom swept the kids out of the house and brought them up to Granny's house, across the street.

Everyone OK.

Six to eight months for home repair. Home structure sound; beaucoup smoke and water damage. Girl's room completely destroyed. Family staying with Granny and Bishop pending finding rental to use while home is redone.

Bad news for sure.... but, silver lining is tragedy's way of causing focus on that which is truly important in life.

ie. All of this happens in the context of 9/11 anniversary two days ago and of two Park City 13 year-olds dying from drug related causes the same night as the fire.

Above: Guacamole. Costco. Salt Lake City. 15 September 2016.

I would have bought this guacamole, except that it's organic. I can't be sure if it's not full of insects or their droppings.

Still, I love shopping at Costco.

TIMDT: We don't need any more nuts.

Bishop: I think we're outta nuts.

TIMDT: If you buy those nuts, I'm leaving you!

Skiing imminent!

Addendum:

I just finished the above book, it was excellent and very timely. I always liked Daniel Silva.

Hi Steve
Hope you are staying well. I try to keep pace with blogs. But I must admit that I am not as regular in reading them as you are in posting them. I admire your dedication and discipline in sharing the information with all of us.
It’s also one of my dreams to travel the way you do and write. Perhaps one day. The Harley Street 750 is what I am eyeing as I feel that a 750 cc bike is more than good for Indian roads and traffic. Perhaps one day I will acquire it.
Hope all is well with you and the family. Say hello to Margaret and we look forward to seeing you In India next year.
Warm Regards

Thank you Steve. I am a big fan of McCarthy and loved the Pretty Horses series. I could not watch the movie “The Road” but I loved the book. I am wondering “No Country” will be the same as it was difficult for me to watch the movie (at least it was the first time – I haven’t tried again), but now I am curious as to whether I will enjoy the book. Downloading it now…

Your Mom and Aunt Joyce are very pretty. To my eye, Jake looks like your Dad.
