Hi Steve:

Please pass on to your Moto-Dinner Group of September 4.

Many thanks for the B & D (dinner), it was a welcome oasis between the hot, dry and dusty roads east of Park City (Rt 40) and then west on my next leg of “The Great Around The World Motorcycle Adventure Rally 2022 – “Looking For America” to Boise www.rtwmotorcycleadventurerally.blogspot

The collection of quality men (including the youngest man/drummer) and one woman we shared time with was refreshing and enlightening, a highlight of my 3,000 mile motorcycle research loop (Denver-Boise-Missoula-Yellowtail/Ft Smith-Denver). The evening included multi-faceted conversations, intellectually stimulating and thought provoking, plus included a pretty lady to look at who shared one of the better tales.
The next day, as I was riding the Interstate past the white desolation of The Great Salt Lake, I found myself laughing inside my helmet where few people find much to laugh about. My cranial gray matter was re-playing the tale recounted the night before of the Slingshot adventure that found Mike grabbing hold of the steering wheel as it rolled away on its own, the owner forgetting to apply the brake after he parked it on an incline. On my brain screen was a cranial video of Mike (a motorized two wheeled adventurer) with both hands on the Slingshot’s steering wheel as he ran quickly alongside, asking himself, “Ok, I’ve got it, now what do I do?” I can imagine his hair flying straight out from the back of his head as he sprinted alongside, before deciding to attempt a yoga-like run-and-jumping leap into the bucket seat and then foot around for the brake pedal he only assumed would be there. A classic image of a Slingshot adventure few two-wheel motorcycle adventurers can conjure, let alone experience. While Mike can claim to be a dirt/gravel riding adventure rider, I suspect he’d agree he had a real adventure with the Slingshot, all on pavement.

My “business” after our confab in Park City, two days later in Boise, was this YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF67t3DUNaA

Thank you for collecting the group, maybe the hook being the fine meal and some quality swill mixed with wild tales. I sincerely appreciate renewing former acquaintances, meeting some new big thinkers and meeting your quality moto-friends. Tell them all that if I can reciprocate some quality time in the future, as the Motel 6 guy says, “We’ll keep the light on for you!” at any of my base camps/man caves (Montana, Colorado or Thailand).
