Picto Diary - 13 August 2018 - Target shooting in Wyoming

Above: Shooting in Wyoming. 13 August 2018.

Bishop points to target hits of his turn at a 44 magnum (Dirty Harry pistol).

Today, five of us, led by two shooting experts, F16 and The Cub, went shooting at a long distance shooting range in southwest Wyoming.

We shot various hand guns and a tactical Remington shot gun at short range, and various rifles at long range, between five hundred and a thousand yards.

We had been well prepared for the long range shooting experience post an excellent presentation on bullet ballistics given by F16 at LSDM/Wasatch Bagel, yesterday.

Aided by the two experts, I learned to shoot my own 454 Casul pistol and my street sweeper tactical Remington 12 gauge shot gun.

Dear Steve,
I would be absolutely delighted to join you on the ride. We can plan on an itinerary. Are there specific parts of India that you would like to cover. It also depends what time of the year you can spare for a trip. We could look at North East India as an option. Perhaps combine your trip with the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland. I think Praveen was discussing it with Margaret. We could do a part of that trip on bikes.
Meanwhile I am checking with our North East experts to find the best routes and will share an outline.
Let’s continue to discuss this.

Let's do it!

Yes, old guys can do the Ultimate Challenge. This 74 year old soldier did it and it was challenging but satisfying at the end. BTW, it covered just a tad more than 2000’ of climbing: 9975’ according to stage 5 elevation profile. The last 11 miles from the base of Little Cottonwood to Snowbird was super tough.

I really enjoy all your picto diary notes.

Impressive! Congratulations!

Happy Belated Birthday, Steve. So glad I ran into you yesterday (or was it the day before?). Hope to see you and Margaret in the winter.

P.S. I am almost exactly a year older than you--my 74th was in July.

Happy Birthday!
