Picto Diary - 13 to 18 September 2021 - Walla Walla

Above: Freddie and the Bison. Perry, UT. 16 September 2021.

Gestures of friendship from both animals. Freddie is normally indifferent to other animals, including dogs. TWO3 calls him alloof and cool. We surmise that he was trained to be cool when in the show ring. Still, here, Freddie couldn't help showing his interest in this giant "dog."

Stopping for Perry peaches and a meal at Maddox is an annual ritual. Since we're heading northwest, we won't consume these peaches ourselves... we'll give them to John Galt and Dagny in Walla Walla.

Thirty minute wait for American comfort food and amazing service. In business since 1940's. Utah icon. This could be the highest volume restaurant in the country with no beer, wine, or spirits licenses. We try not to miss Maddox when we are in the Brigham City area.

I did the salad bar. Cottage cheese, pinto beans, melon chunks, and potato salad.

Took Freddie on a 20 minute walk from here to the courthouse and back.

I've wanted to stop here for some time. I've been wearing Pendleton shirts since high school. I've always had at least one of them around. I now have several... 2XL T's.

Pendleton... not Patagonia. Filson... not Columbia.

TIMDT purchased some Pendleton throws for those cool nights sitting on the patio in Ivins.

Good reunion, even if fuzzy image. Wood fired pizza from Galt's pizza oven.

Earp's pivot business is booming. Galt's woodworking shop has a two month backlog.

Got twenty or so miles in before rain delay. I towed the Duc up in a trailer behind the Sprinter.

John Galt squired me around Walla Walla wine country after we took the motorcycles out of the rain. TIMDT and Dagny went back to Pendleton to get some more throws. Galt made the tables seen in the image out of local hardwoods.

Where there are grapes there are also foodies. No less in Walla Walla.
