Picto Diary - 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 August 2018 - Soccer Grandparents

Bishop and TIMDT are KPCW Broadcaster's Club members.

Met Renai Bodley, KPCW GM. Invited her to speak at LSDM.

Renai noted that KPCW has disproportionate impact relative to its size given that more and more Park City fans living outside the broadcast area are streaming the programs.

Gave Larry Warren, retired KPCW exec, a copy of Jazz CD "Sonic Paragon," produced by Jay Lawrence, (Mwah [sic] Executive Producer), with the expectation that KPCW will give it a few turns.

"Sonic Paragon" came out on 01 August 2018 and is now being played by Jazz stations nationally.

There she is again. These images are getting boring, so many sightings do we see this year.

Soccer grandparents.

Kids wanted Happy Meals.

Excellent coffee.

Amazing play area! — eating burgers and fries at McDonald's.

Note: 18 August 2018. TIMDT and Mwah (sic) dined last night at home of one of the leading members of the Salt Lake City Indian (as in India) diaspora (who knew?). Four Indian couples. PhDs, MD's whose kids were at MIT, Chicago, or Stanford. Can we up the immigration quotas for these types of people?

Perfect setting well executed music..

Proving that...

1. Western classical music remains at the apex of all music per its ability to inspire, to appreciate complexity, and to dream.

2. I may have underestimated the capacity of millennials to excel.

3. SLC not as much of a backwater as is commonly perceived.

Jerry Rao, Indian entrepreneur, author, and columnist speaks to LSDM. Accompanied by wife, Neela.

"Too many times Indians explain away lack of accomplishment...roads, infrastructure etc., as compared to, say, China, by claiming 'yes, but, we're a democracy.' Such a claim is a shaky moral high ground. Might it not be better to use a little more authoritarian approach if that led to more accomplishment?"

Taking care of business.

Addendum:

Excellent post. Sums up a year of paleontology upper classes.

Happy 73. More good times on the way 😊 and we enjoyed the reminder of a fun movie moment.
