College friend of Margaret and me. RIP. 17 February 2019.
Descendent of a great pioneer family - the Redds - who settled in wild southeastern Utah.
Bryce owned and ran Parley Redd Mercantile, a "general store" in Blanding, UT, for most of his adult life.

Each of these ski instructors will bring in $500 of revenue to Deer Valley by noon. They'll get paid anywhere from $15 to $40 per hour plus tips. Ski school is a big money maker for the resort.
Cold. Bluebird. Great snow. One inch over night. — at Deer Valley Resort.

Cushings was crowded at break time, hence this mid course lodge correction.

Skied with Stockli, Ohl, and Lena, low maintenance skiers all! Pre-break at Silver Lake Lodge. Was sunny pre break. Post break, light snow, flat light.
Ohl, skiing like a pro at 86 years of age, never ceases to amaze. He calls the runs, but undertakes some challenging ones, like Solid Muldoon.
Lena, encountered at gondola summit, is spouse of one of the original Park City Ski Geezers, Dolomite. Dolomite now has some balance issues and sticks to the gym, avoiding the ski slopes.
Snow keeps falling. Deer Valley reports a 108 inch settled base.

Lottsa people inside lodges due to single digit temps.
Skied alone.
Best pure skiing of the year.
I felt like a great skier. Edges always grabbed. Carving and turning felt comfortable... muscle memory gave right instructions.
Cold, sunny.
Sally and 'Bird jabber pre ski breakfast. The Kid was working the Crown Point lift at base. — at Deer Valley Resort.

Empire Lodge new break stop. Cushings getting too crowded and phone works at Empire. As I was walking back to my table with a purchased cup of coffee, 'Bird and female friend called at me from another table and invited me to join. I had already deposited my garb in another room and demurred. I owe 'Bird a lunch or something as a small token of my appreciation for all the skiing tips he has given me this year.
Noteworthy: Crescent groomed. Happens only two or three times a year. Skied it. Not the best grooming job. They had a pretty chewed up hill to start with, so guess I shouldn't complain.
Skied alone. Worked on smooth very tight turns per 'Bird tips.
Epic skiing. Too many "epic" ski days. Need to redefine "epic."
Pre ski breakfast with The Actuary, Betty, and 'Bird. Run into DOE at Wasatch Lift. Rode up gondola with Lena, spouse of Dolomite, one of the original Park City ski geezers. — in Park City, Utah.

Steve:
As regards your appreciation for skiing with experts, I’m always there for you.

No you're not. You find a way to duck out of every ski invite I make. You're the only expert skier I know who seems to not want to ski with me. I'll just have to look elsewhere for expert ski tips.
