Skied with The Actuary, expert skier. Back to the grind after four days in PV. 18 February

We did five, more or less, steep, long runs: Evergreen, Orient Express, Stein's Way, Wizard, and Peeler.

The Actuary pointed out to me that on some of my turns on the steeps, I'm not fully forward on the inside edge of the downhill ski.

I realize that some of my turns on steeps are not going as smoothly as they should. To fix this problem, I have started yelling out loud, "toe!" as I make each turn. This reminds me to lead into each turn with my big toe and power through the turn on the balls of my feet. Doing so keeps me fully forward on the inside edge of the downhill ski, more fully edged into the hill. The toe shouting has helped.

One of my problems might be this: When you are skiing on the steeps, you're pulling more G's. This pushes up against my power to weight ratio. If my knee flex can't handle the extra G's, then my downhill leg will stiffen to support my "extra" G force weight. One of the solutions to this problem would, of course, be to shed a few more pounds, thereby further improving my power to weight ratio beyond the forty pound weight loss impr(52) Skied five runs with The Pope at the outdoor church before accompanying on organ at the indoor church.
ovement that I have already experienced this ski season.

I appreciate the observation from The Actuary. I'm gonna continue work on the problem. Toe, toe, toe,

F350 far right, back, corner, Lot 1, Snow Park Lodge. Parking is free, but, for how long? Deer Valley intends to develop this parking lot for commercial and residential purposes. Timing is not known, but three years out would be a good guess. Deer Valley promises extensive underground parking, but it's not likely to be free. It was good living at the apex in any case.

Good bluebird day, working on turning on the Bald Mountain steeps.

FeeBee, Drums, and Mynduveroan were at the base with some friends, about to start skiing just as I was leaving. — at Deer Valley Resort.

Addendum:

Hi Banker Steve:

Last time I was there in PV, the tourism agency had grand plans to restore the location where Brando and Taylor made that movie steamy, NIGHT OF THE IGUANA. The producer had donated the location to the locals, who had stripped it to nothing more than a few cement foundations. The site needed a serious and expensive rebuild. Wonder if they ever got it done for tourists to visit?

I believe the tourism agency would have done better money wise restoring the hotel room where the two movie stars spent more time making the room steamy with passion :-)
