Above: Dennis Lockhart, recently retired head of Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, points to Trump ski run sign at Deer Valley Ski resort, Park City, UT. 18 March 2017.
It is not clear, from the look on Dennis' face, whether this is a gesture of ridicule or praise. Fedspeak?
Excellent ski conditions considering Spring temperatures. Breeze
prolonged firm to sugar snow conditions.

Dennis is in town as our house guest for a ski visit. Dennis and I were first ski buddies 45 years ago at Fariah Ski Resort, in Lebanon (1972).
"I want to be optimistic about prospects for the US to achieve a 3% to a 4% GDP growth rate following on from the tax reduction and deregulation promised by the new administration. But, there are major structural impediments to achieving higher GDP growth rates. Our labor force is not growing (departing boomers for one) and prospects for significant improvements in productivity (a la electricity) are dim."
Dennis cited the recently published work of Robert J. Gordon, "The Rise and Fall of American Growth: The U.S. Standard of Living since the Civil War" in developing his point on expectations for limited productivity growth.

What a difference a day makes. 4 inch accumulation between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
Notwithstanding, tricky skiing. Wet new snow on hard grooming with lots of grooming irregularities underneath. Low visibility gave rise to atavistic hesitation. Stayed on edges, which meant more turning. A hard work ski session.
Glad to be outside, in any case.

Steve, I know the feeling—everything goes into slow motion and you know you can do nothing about it—in my case I knew it was going to really hurt and it did!
