Looking North 59 miles distant. 10x telephoto Samsung phone. Delano Peak, 12.1K feet. Tushar Mountains. Site of Eagle Point ski resort. Image taken from 11K feet at Brian Head Summit.

BH much better conditions than when I skied here in early February. I was huffing and puffing more per distance covered. Then I realized I was skiing, on average, at 1500 feet of elevation higher than at Deer Valley. BH base, at 9700 feet, is rough the same elevation as Bald Mountain summit at DV.

Three lift ride companions:

1. Jim Hyer. Former Park City Councilman, two terms early naughts. Lives in Mesquite. Drives up to Brian Head once a week for ski dates. He recognized me from my former connection with the Park City Motorcycle Club. Mentioned Alex Butwinski, Councilman who succeeded him, also a motorcyclist. Knows Bill Ligety well. On hearing of our imminent second home purchase in Ivins, he mentioned two or three other Parkites with Washington County residences. Her does a Zoom once a week with Tom Clyde and other Park City insiders to keep up on all things Summit County. Serendipitous meet...small world story.

2. St George Doc. Grew up Tooele, UT. Drives to BH twice a week to ski.

3. LV dry waller. Snowboarder. Follows the storms, but gets to BH six or eight times a year.

Not "Over the Counter," but not bad. Bacon comes crispy.

Love the Ma and Pa resorts. Authentic. No pretensions. Only the basics. $55 for a half day lesson, versus $400 for the same at DV.

Lots of families/kids up here today.

Powder hound paradise...see string of steeps on right of ski map.

LSDM Breakfast at Wasatch Bagel with PGA and My Belle.

Pre Break: DV reports 13 inches powder. Not champagne...not wet. Huff puff fun on Tycoon, Star, Stein's way, and Birdseye.

Skied post break with B1b. Magnet, Dakota, Hidden Treasure, Dew Drop/Little Kate.

Deer Valley, 22 March 2021.

Bluebird. Cold. Excellent snow.

Addendum:

Love the Sprinter. Looks great!

Lovely photos. Dangerous to ride the lift with that guy. I might have jumped off.

Steve,

Does the 2021 Multistrada V-4 engine/exhaust throw off a LOT of HEAT? I ask because I once owned a Desmosedici and if you were riding it wearing something less than full insulation on your legs, the engine heat was PAINFUL! Have they cured this?
A note to Drummer: our Founding Fathers realized that they were in a no-screw-around situation of creating a functioning, lasting country. They did such a good job, that we are now coasting on their laurels and the clowns have taken over- the animals are running the zoo.

So very well said!
When it comes to perspectives regarding our nation's best interests I defer to our Founding Father's principles. I unreservedly believe that they were brighter, wiser, more inspired, less propagandized, and better educated than we are today. Their priorities seem to include liberty, small local government, right to self defense, equal opportunity (not equal outcomes), national security, free markets as the best path to prosperity, safeguarding religious freedom and freedom of speech, right to life, and so forth. These should be our unifying values in my view.
