Harfleur... "Once more unto the breach, dear friends..."

Agincourt... St. Crispen's Day speech..."we few, we happy few, we band of brothers."

War criminal? A point of scholarly debate: Henry V executed all French POW's.

Tim Guymon The battle of Agincourt ended French as the national language of England. For 200 years the only Anglo-Saxon spoken in England was by the hoi polloi. But when A-S was reinstated as the national language—no one (in power) knew how to speak it. Like today’s American border states speak “Spanglish,” England began to speak “Franglish.” Even today 60% of the words in English are of French derivation, and as French was once the language of the sophisticated and learned, even today those “French” words are more genteel, more intellectual-sounding than their Anglo-Saxon synonyms. Better than typical Ashland residence. But not by much. This is a beautifully kept town now looking its Spring best. Most people take a lot of pride here when it comes to keeping their residences spruced up nicely.

I captured this image on a morning walk.

Image captured from parking lot of Mt. Ashland Ski Resort. Ashland, OR

Image looks east south east.

First time up to Mt. Ashland Ski Area in 15 years of coming here. Resort is kinda bare bones, but, looks like fun mountain.

Above: Mt. Shasta. Last May's image. Taken from 6 miles west of Klamath Falls, OR. OR SR 66.

Image looks south west. Bike here is not the Ducati I'm riding today. It's the BMW F800 GS loaded up for last year's trip to Alaska.

Big Dog Banker Steve:

Good to see you're thrown a leg (the broken one) over the back of the the two wheel motorized horse.

Maybe our motorcycle adventuristic paths will cross in the coming months.
