Visit of long missing LSDM stalwart Big Data! Standing, in purple t-shirt. Now married, has a son on the way, still a Naval Reservist intelligence officer and now working for USAF at Hill AFB.
Big Data was asked if he thought woke training in the military was the primary reason for the military missing its recruiting goals. "Maybe a little," said Big Data. "The main reason is the post Covid malaise affecting large numbers of young males. They live with their parents, play video games, watch porn, and never got back out of the house after being quarantined in 2020."

I have a thing for thistles. It's a noxious weed, harmful to cattle for one. But, still, it's one of the most beautiful "flowers" out there. My picture file is full of thistle pictures captured during our LSDM Walker walks over the years. I was thrilled to see this painting while gallery browsing at the Helper Arts Festival.

Between Utah Valley and Helper, on US 6/89, is the ghost town of Thistle, UT. In 1983 a massive landslide damned the Spanish Fork River and the town's inhabitants had to be evacuated. Over the next few weeks, the water backed up and the town was fully submerged. US 6/89 and the railway line had to be rerouted. On the new routing, high up on a mountain side, you can get a very good view of the slide.

When I ride or drive through the old ghost town a 60's era tune always pops into my head. Listen to the song and see why!

City Council candidate, incumbent city councilman, Ryan Dickey stopped by. Ryan conveyed some positively incendiary off-the-record revelations about the upcoming Park City city council elections. .... well, maybe, not so much!
