Picto Diary - 18 to 23 September 2024 - Spitz

LSDM speaker, Park City, Utah City councilman Bill Ciraco. Speaker notes forthcoming. Hint: Bill tees up the notion, being discussed at City Council levels, of a possible move of City Hall from Marsac to current public works property. Public works would be moved to the Gordo property east of the city on UT SR 248. What of Marsac? How about a tony boutique hotel?

Key takeaways (my notes. mistakes are mine).
Wrong to call DJT isolationist. He's more of a Jacksonian pragmatic internationalist. Plenty of examples from his first term where he selectively projected American power overseas as a deterrent.
The next five months, where the US is effectively without presidential leadership, will be the most dangerous period in which the US finds itself since the Cuban missile crisis.
You will not see Kamela Harris giving an open, free flowing press conference at the national level. Like Biden in 2020, her personal exposure to the public on a national level will be limited.
DJT has far better surrogates than ever before. Between now and the election he needs to make better coordinated use of them. These include Tom Cotton, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Jim Jordan.

LSDM speaker, Park City community activist, Angela Moschetta, with LSDM's Daggett. 19 September 2024. Wasatch Bagel Cafe, Park City, UT. Speaker Notes forthcoming... but a lot of interesting commentary on the Park City Mountain Lift appeal and Deer Valley's Snow Park traffic redirection project.

1/2 Bishop with Daggett, Myles, and Spitz founder/owner Bryce Rademan. 25 Spitz restaurants and counting.
"To succeed in this business, you can't cut corners for short term gain. You have to prioritize food quality and service to have any hope for success." Bryce Rademan.
LSDM loves real life stories of young, successful entrepreneurs.

One more find in Bishop's never-ending quest to seek out Utah locations never before visited by either Guzzi or Peterbilt. In the 1880's Page Ranch, thirty miles west of Cedar City now on an obscure Iron County dirt road, was an overnight stop on the route to St. George and Las Vegas.

Found on Trip Advisor. Exceeded expectations.
Addendum:
EV’s should not be mandated in high density urban areas.
