Re: Coronavirus
Note: My notes. My editorial selection. Mistakes are mine.
Policy makers have ignored the ability of individuals to take responsibility for their own health. There will be consequences for this approach... relating to "is the cure worse than the disease" discussion. Students out of class for half the year is one of those consequences.
Some states are using the crisis to seek bail out money for their bad financial management of the past.... having nothing to do with Coronavirus.
Pay forward: More attention could have been given to how we pay for crisis management government largess. For example, rather than just give everyone $1K, how about a loan... repayable out of Social Security payment years or decades down the road?
We won't return to "normal." We'll return to a "new normal." Before coronavirus shut down mandates, people were already curtailing air travel and restaurant going. I don't see a "V" recovery. People will take time to ease back into travel and entertainment. — at Iron Canyon.
