Picto Diary - 19 to 27 September 2022 - Marlo Oaks and ESG

Funeral Elizabeth II, Queen of England. Marred only by the presence of Brandon, the poisonous termagant and her doofus prince, the funeral was brilliantly organized pomp and ceremony as only The Crown can do. Elizabeth II: apt icon of world's greatest empire. Britain: Avatar of industrial revolution. Lord of the seven seas. Lynch pin for Western Civilization. I've lived 10 years in three countries conquered by Britain (excluding US): Egypt, India, and Australia. I've visited many more: South Africa, Hong Kong etc. While damage was done in these conquests, measured over time, Britain left more than she took. Now, we can only hope Charles III steps up. God save the King.

Utah State Treasurer, and anti ESG crusader. Marlo Oaks, leveraging skillfully what is usually a nominal state position, has become a nationally recognized rock star (WSJ, Tucker Carlson) in his work to thwart ESG investing. Today's fundraiser, attended by Governor Spencer Cox, Congressman John Curtis, and numerous other Utah political luminaries, raised 4x the highest amount ever spent on a Utah state treasurer campaign. The money will be necessary as national anti-Marlo money is coming in to take Marlo down.

A hopeful anti ESG parry yesterday at DC Congressional hearings was J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon's take down of Congressman Rashida Tlaib. Tlaib demanded that JP Morgan cease doing business with the fossil fuel industry. Dimon, buoyed by Marlo's and other state counterparts' high-profile anti ESG stand, replied assertively to Tlaib: "If we do what you say and that is the end if the United States." Utahns should be proud of Marlo Oaks for spearheading a national effort that has the support of the nation's top bankers.

Yesterday, Marlo hosted at breakfast Vivek Ramaswamy, billionaire, New York Times bestselling author ("Woke, Inc.: Inside Corporate America's Social Justice Scam"), who recently launched anti ESG, so far wildly successful, Strive Asset Management. Ramaswamy is the self-styled scourge of woke boardrooms. Ramaswamy was in Utah to attend former Vice President Pence's colloquy on turning back ESG investing.
