THE MOTORCYCLE TRAILER AND THE IVINS HOUSE
July 2020
Bishop: I need a motorcycle trailer for Sprinter.
TIMDT: We don't need a trailer. We're not getting one.
August 2020
Bishop gets trailer anyway, expending much political capital with TIMDT.
December 2020
TIMDT, using Bishop's squandered political capital, unilaterally, and confidently, announces she is buying a house in St. George, UT.
January 2021
Bishop and TIMDT contract for Ivins, Utah spec home, sight unseen.
April 2021
TIMDT announces we are going to use motorcycle trailer to move phase one move-in materials (bedding, cookware, chairs yada) from Park City to Ivins. Son in law B1b loads the trailer in Park City.
April 22, 2021
Ivins. Bishop to TIMDT: Who will unload trailer and cart stuff into new house? TIMDT: You. Bishop: I'm an old man. Hire someone. TIMDT: You are lazy and not comporting with the spirit of family togetherness by doing your share in this move. Bishop: Empties the trailer himself and carts stuff into house.
Epilogue. TIMDT wins big as beleaguered Bishop reflects on how he has, once again, been cleverly had by TIMDT. Confused Bishop wonders if wives, in general, have instinctive, or learned, traits that enable them to always one up their husbands.

Addendum:
A story similar to the Bob Wheaton story was told at Hewlett Packard. A customer visit was taking place in the executive offices of the Palo Alto building in the late 1960s. The air conditioning was not working and the room was uncomfortably warm. The sales manager leading the visit was concerned and annoyed. He left the meeting looking for someone to help. He found an older gentleman wearing a plaid shirt and khaki work pants walking in the hallway. The sales manager explained the problem and a bit impatiently asked the supposed maintenance worker if he could fix the problem. The worker said he thought so and would go get some tools. The worker came in the conference room, removed the cover of the thermostat, made some adjustments, and said,
"I think that will do it." After the worker left the room, several of the people in the room quietly informed the sales manager that their "maintenance worker," was Dave Packard, founder and then President of HP.
I loved the Bob Wheaton story.

Hi Steve,
I couldn’t agree more with your points 1-3 and the last paragraph.
I’m heading out to meet up with Ronnie Weinzapfel tomorrow to ride the NM BDR.
Take care,

Great picture of the Apex Ridge, and Lookout Ridge to left, both of which I skied several times early April before they closed Apex lift during the last open week due to insufficient staffing. Agree with 1. and 2., but not so sure about your 3rd point since we have had far more success here in overcoming the pandemic through various means than most other countries in the world.
