1. Spiral Jetty, Great Salt Lake, UT. Robert Smithson. File image. Created in 1970's, considered one of America's most important pieces of modern art. DIA and Smithson Trust share ownership. TIMDT and Mwah (sic) visited the Spiral Jetty last year. Spiral Jetty is easily visible from the rise seen in the file image. Currently, with Great Salt Lake water level at record lows, there is no water surrounding the Spiral Jetty.
2. TIMDT observes sculpture, "Atlantis, " at DIA, Beacon, NY, By Robert Smithson (Spiral Jetty sculptor). Looks like a pile of broken glass. Is a pile of broken glass. Art? Apparently, for many. Methinks that such creations may emanate from untrammeled brains expressing creative freedom. But such "art" does not require the "skill" quotient of grand masters painters, or renaissance architects. Correlate to decline in standards overall? A colorable argument can be made, I think.
3. Bishop stands beside fluorescent light art by Dan Flavin. What Chihuly is to blown glass, Flavin is to florescent tube lights. Standing here, Bishop was reminded of being in Istanbul's cisterns.

HOOPS: WE WANT TO EDUCATE KIDS IN A MORAL WAY.
Hoops, Assistant Coach, Monsignor Scanlon High School basketball. Dwayne, Head Coach, Monsignor Scanlan High School basketball. Scanlon was Class B, NY state basketball champ in 2016. Elevated to Class AA for 2016/17 season. Coach says he has 5 Division 1 potential players this year. One 7 footer.
