Picto Diary - 20 April 2016 - Santa Barbara - On the Duc

Post two hour ride south from Pismo Beach.

Catch up at a nearby coffee house near Fish's office. Political junkie Fish says Cruz (not his choice) gets Pub nomination on third ballot. The fix is in, he says, with many delegates... even supposed Trump delegates... poised to turn for Cruz once they are officially released from their first ballot commitments.
Fish is a member of the executive committee of La Societe Deux Magots (LSDM). he was a key figure in the early going of speaker solicitation, and continues to introduce speakers and new members, notwithstanding his move from Utah to Santa Barbara.

Image shot, partially through the lens of the of the Duc wind screen, as Mwah (sic) rides up for a short visit with Don and Carolyn.

Usual family reminiscences both sides. Jennifer has a great job with Disney, organizing the implementation of the new Star Wars parks at the US facilities. Among a lot of other topics, we talked about skiing together at Fariah Resort, Lebanon in 1971.

Addendum:
Enjoyed the Pizmo beach thing. I have stayed there on a ride to visit Henry The First a few years back. Also enjoyed the Venetian restaurant. There's a very nice Best Western premier right on the edge of the cliff overlooking the Pacific. I'm hoping I can pay you a visit this riding season. My son is in Embry Riddle in Prescott Arizona and we are doing a little riding all through the area there and up into Utah. Hope to see you this spring.
I'll Tell You What,
San Angelo, TX
I would hope to see you and ride with you. Come stay Park City if we're here. Please let me know your plans ASAP... I'm often away traveling myself.
Very interesting your remarks on banking , their business is no different than running any retail establishment as far as consumers are concerned , I will elaborate during our trip ! Interesting I cannot hold back from commenting on the Duc that our BMW bags over tens of thousands of miles never broke - I also have own many Duc's therefore my remarks are not without 😩😎

Note: RMK was a fraternity brother and '65 classmate at Stanford. We also played on the freshman baseball team. Dick went on to the varsity. I wasn't in the same "league".
Note: I think you may have met Bob Oster. A good friend whom I have skied with
and occasionally ride with in the Bay Area.
Small world.
Be seeing you. Ride safe.
