Good, but challenging day.
Warm, but windy. Push around 3 inches new snow in flat light. Crowded. Still quite a few vacationers. Damp and drizzle low. Flakes and wind up high. Still, 12 lifts. Good workout.

Daly Chutes. Image captured from Supreme run, Empire Lift. I can only dream of skiing these double black diamond chutes. My grandchildren now ski Daly Chutes without giving it a second thought.
No Friends on a Powder Day. (NFPD).
16 inches new snow over night. Accomplished my standard 13 lift DV AM routine. Took me an extra 30 minutes and double the calories as compared with a groomed, bluebird ski day.
Huff puff, more turning (un weighting and weighting), unseen berms and unseen piles of pushed around snow in the flat light make this kind of skiing a real challenge for me. A rewarding experience when I accomplish it.
I recharged our Snow Park Lodge, season pass holder, discount meal card. The operation was accomplished by a fast, friendly, competent, hyper-efficient woman employee of a certain age.
Most DV customer interface jobs, off slope, i.e. ticket window, restaurant cashier, and customer service desk etc. are "manned" by women of a certain age, each, usually one half of a retired couple, of which there are many in the Park City area. Many of these DV retiree workers don't need the income, but, they like keeping busy, they make friends with co-workers and the get an annual DV ski pass as part of their pay package.

Nirvana ski day. May be a personal best. True feeling of ski skill improvement under these conditions.
Perfect storm (double entendre intended).
1. 8 inches new (on top of 16 new yesterday).
2. Cold. Powder wispy and dry, high and low.
3. Plenty of skiers, but not crowded.
4. Little wind.
5. Lite snowfall thru-out AM refreshes slope.
6. Low rate of reversion to atavistic stance.
7. Best ever experience on Orion.
8. DV burger at Snow Park Lodge.
At lunch, DV GM Bob Wheaton sat nearby. I told him to keep up the good work. He wondered why I was leaving the mountain. I said this geezer has had enough by noon.
