Just to the right of the summit of Bald Mountain, the top of the Sultan Lift can be barely discerned.

Plans are afoot for DV to open most of the terrain seen in the image to skiing in the next two or three years. Five new lifts and a new hotel are an the drawing board, according to Deer Valley recent announcements.

Above: Today, 22 February 2016, The Bishop observes the tree that was there last Wednesday, but, is not today (tree felled in Thursday's high winds). 'Keg ski run. Park City Ski Area. Skied two runs for the first time this year: Ligety Ice (heh heh) and Kings Crown. Light snow falling most of the AM... spent a lot of time concentrating on confident turns in low visibility..especially on Lostpector (sic) and Dynamite. . Usually, in weak light and/or choppy snow, my atavistic self kicks in and I fail to stay low and forward while turning. Made some improvement on that today.

Eureka! Gold chair on Thanes lift!

One chance in 107 in getting the Thanes gold chair. I've been on it once before, two years ago, during Park City 50th Anniversary Year, the reason chair #50 on Thanes, Park City's first lift, was painted gold in the first place.

An uncommonly good ski day today. Crispy cold bluebird. Among the runs skied, Kings Crown, Creole, Willys, Mikeys, Glory Hole, Heckler, Turtle, and Snow Dog. Stayed through 12:30. 17 runs skied.

Pre break skied with 'Cake... including Kings Crown, Silver King, Quitting Time, and Crescent. Post break skied with Guzzi... long from Summit House to King Con, where Guzzi acquired an Epic pin... then, Silver Star and Spiro. Keeping with the theme of staying away from the ski lemmings.
