8:45 AM. Bob, bob, bob...Bob bob 'n Anne, running into me at Cabriolet base, Canyons, said, "Don’t go up Steve, the gondola is down for mechanical problems and won't be running for two hours."

9:10 AM. So, like them, I drove over to Resort Center base. I skied the pictured run, Home Run, the only major ski run open at Resort Center, only once. Why?

1. Low visibility.
2. Pushed around corn snow.
3. Packed with kids riding/skiing fast coming up from behind (actually 90% of the reason.

I, therefore, decided to ski six runs off the First-Time lift. Yes. That's a bunny run. But I was able to do some early ski season work on fundamentals while avoiding "The White Ribbon of Death."

Sunset image captured while driving northbound on I-15 at 4:45 PM. Nebo is highest, and southernmost peak in the Wasatch Range at 11, 928 feet. Utah has "twelves" in the Tushar Mountains, about 100 miles south of this spot, near Beaver, and the Deep Creeks, 100 miles to the west, just this side of the Nevada line. There are "thirteens" in the Uinta Range, about 100 miles beyond Nebo looking in the direction of the image.
