Cushings Cabin Pensees

1. Shouldn't lower Little Stick, a "green," be widened? It's a tough run for anyone when icy or hard.

2. Among the most amusing of lift experiences: Listening to a male opining about skiing to two accompanying adoring, fawning females, when he doesn't have a clue of what he's talking about.

3. Saying "on your left (right)" as you approach a downhill skier is an act of rudeness. Ski rules say, "down hill skier has the right of way. It is your duty to avoid him (not discombobulate him with an unexpected cry from his unseen rear)."

4. Corollary to above: While skiing, look uphill and hand signal any significant direction change likely to spook a following skier. Not a rule, but a wise precaution.

5. Singles line, Carpenter (4 seat chair). Female skier, first in line, blocking entry into main lift line, with me second in line, jabbers personal stuff with liftie (female) as one twosome and one threesome trudge by (three open, now empty, seats). Not wanting to interrupt the jabbering ladies, I attempted to slip under the rope into the adjacent empty feeder lane. I was roundly stopped in this attempt by the loquacious liftie. Chastened, I returned to the singles line, whereupon the talkative girls resumed their conversation. After another 20 seconds, and 4 or 5 more empty chairs, the girls' colloquy ended, and, I was allowed to ski into the main lift line.

TIMDT Update, 31 March 2018

Post fall off Deer Valley's Wasatch Lift  get off a month ago. She goes to physical therapy twice a week and to her trainer at the Waldorf Astoria spa, three times weekly. She's move from two crutches to one crutch and is more optimistic about functioning normally sans ACL.

Addendum:

Leave it to your observant spouse to point out where you need to improve your personal hygiene, appearance, diction, behavior, weight gain, diet failings, etc, I do, and it works for me. Going on 65 years of trying to improve.
