Out and about in the Sprinter

Site upgraded (monuments, storyboards, landscaping) in 2011.

Extremely well maintained. A fitting memorial to Baker/Fancher train from Carrollton County, Arkansas and Harrison, Arkansas. Story boards describe event chronology in factual matter.

Poignant were storyboard narratives I hadn't heard before. For one:

On 11 February 1907, Arkansas US Senator, James H. Berry read into the US Congressional Record his eyewitness account, as a 17 year old boy, of the 16 September 1859 ceremony at Carrollton County Courthouse, Arkansas, marking the return of the seventeen surviving Baker/Fancher childrent to their family members.

Note: Image of Berry storyboard narrative in this post's. Comments.

Note: Before this trip, most recent Sprinter outing was to spend four days in Arkansas, in part, ironically, to mourn untimely death. Serendipitous reciprocity?

The Fremont people lived throughout Utah and adjacent areas of Idaho, Colorado, and Nevada from 700 to 1300 AD. The culture was named for the Fremont River and its valley in which many of the first Fremont sites were discovered.

Here are some pictures of Sabine at the show I mentioned in my email to you. The other couple in the one picture are the breeders who birthed Sabine and showed her for five years. We got her because she could not conceive and they were focusing on showing her brother. Lucky us!!
