Above: Lake Powell, Arizona. 24 May 2022. Out and about on the Duc with Mr. Z3. Lake Powell, following 20-year draught, is 20% capacity. Reservoir level only 10 feet above dead pool after which no more electricity can be generated by the Glen Canyon Dam's turbines. The depleted reservoir, for me, conjures up a poignant image of America today: running out of power; running out of water; running out of gas; running out of formula; running out of moxie. Formerly "can do" America is now "too hard" America. Sadder still, we have to suck it up. It's what US voters want: the managed decline of the United States.

Brits (Lake District) on LA rented Harleys doing a two-week motorcycle loop through American color country. Connection was made when Robert said he also had a Ducati Multistrada (2015). He liked the Multistrada a lot but said the seats were terrible. Not five minutes previously I had said to Mr. Z3 that the seat on my 2021 Duc Multistrada was terrible and that I was going to replace it with a Corbin seat. No joke coincidence. The trio was in Las Vegas last night and will ride through Zion National Park to stay in Hatch tonight.

Pioche is a wonderful off the beaten track destination. Lots of sites to visit. Courthouse, museum, restaurant and historic bar/hotel. Old geezer docents are friendly and proud of their heritage. The county works hard to keep their heritage alive. I love visiting obscure destinations like this.

In 1908, Pioche was a booming silver mining town larger than Las Vegas. In 1909, the territory represented on the bottom half of the map was hived off and named Clark County, with Las Vegas as its county seat.

Ducati Multistrada V4 is produced in 2021. Engine is Four stroke, 90° Granturismo V 4, counter rotating crankshaft, 4 valves per cylinder, Twin Pulse firing order, displacement 1158 cc / 71 cu in, produces power 170 hp / 125 kW @ 10,500 rpm and 125 Nm / 92 lb-ft @ 8,750 rpm.
