Picto Diary - 25 to 30 April 2022 - Reposition Ride

I always carry duct tape... except, of course, when I actually need it.

Out and about on the 'Wing. One of the few 76 Union gas stations in Utah. Reposition ride. Riding from Ivins to Park City where I need the 'Wing for a ride north with TIMDT in a few days. Heading back to Ivins tomorrow on the Duc.  'Wing is powerful and smooth. I need to be careful about the cruise control which is not adaptive as is the Sprinter and the Duc. It's not clear to me that more and more of these seemingly beneficial driver aids don't serve more to reduce focus on driver risk rather than increasing safety factor. Today's ride is 320 miles mostly slab.

Found Roxanne, a former Coloradan, now living in Barcelona, replacing a lost foot peg on her Moto Guzzi. She removed the right rear peg and reinstalled it as the right front peg. She said the 'Guzzi was a little light. She had a hard time being buffeted by the winds. I and the 'Wing were probably double the weight of Roxanne and the 'Guzzi. The wind was blowing but I was feeling pretty stable at 80 mph. Roxanne said she had a Ducati Monster in Spain. Meeting motorcyclists along the route always fun. There is always something to learn. Neither Roxanne nor I were carrying duct tape, which she needed. She found some in the adjacent convenience store. I always carry duct tape... except, of course, when I actually need it.
