Stayed home, following doctor's orders to stay quiet during week of Mohs recovery. I really should have paid more attention to what the Mohs procedure entailed. Had I known it would keep me off skis for a week, I would have had the procedure scheduled sometime after ski season.

TIMDT was in Las Vegas accompanying Rudy Jr. and Portland family for kids' Spring break.

Read. Blogged. Napped.

Emptied the fridge... to the point of being quite creative in food selections. How about the following for supper? A small wedge of camembert, succotash from the deli counter at the Market, several gherkin pickles, a microwaved tamale, berries covered with half and half.

I went out just one night for some Indian food at Ganesh, in the Prospector section of town. I ordered mattar paneer (cheese and peas) curry. What came was mushroom and peas curry... no cheese. I was hungry... I didn't want to make a big deal of it... and the mushroom and peas curry was pretty good. No big deal. I ate the "wrong" dish sans complaint.

After completing my meal I advised the waiter, "hey, what you brought me was not what I ordered. I'm not making a big deal of it. I very much liked the mushroom and peas curry. I'm not fussy... not angling for anything... blah blah, yada yada… but, just so you know... somebody else might have been more fussy than I am."

Waiter: Well, we don't have mattar paneer on the menu.

Mwah (sic): Look. I've had mattar paneer here before. Anyway, you should say so when you don't have something ordered by your customer. You shouldn't bring him something that he didn't order. By the way, I've never been to an Indian restaurant that doesn't have paneer. You have paneer, right?

Waiter: Yes. On our menu we have palak paneer curry (spinach and cheese).

Mwah (sic): Well, we know you have peas. I just ate some. And, as I said, the mushroom and peas curry was pretty good. But, couldn't you make a curry by just putting your paneer and peas together and holding the mushrooms?

Waiter: Yes, I guess we could do that.

Mwah (sic): OK... look... I enjoyed my meal... and hope to come back. I'll try to be more specific next time about what I want.

Having this discussion, I was reminded of Jack Nicholson in the diner scene in the film, "Five Easy Pieces."

I couldn't ski with 'em. But, I joined them for breakfast at Snow Park Lodge.

Caleb "broke" through this year. He can now easily keep up with a group of experienced skiers on a groomed outing.
