The hand grip control array looks complicated, and it is.

The hand grip control array looks complicated, and it is. I don't have the patience to sit down and assiduously study the owner's manual. Rather, I'm impelled by need. If I can't figure out how to find the trip meter in the read-out by futzing with the controls as best I can, only then will I refer to the manual to try to figure it out. Things I need to know for which I don't yet have the answer include: disable ABS; enable motorcycle start via code, sans key; set or zero out trip meters. I spend to much time trying to solve these problems as I ride. Its a distraction. A few more minutes with the owners manual would pay dividends.

Parting of the ways. It will take me forty minutes to ride back to Ivins. Mr. Z3 has a three hundred mile trip across the desert in 100 degree temperatures ahead of him. I tell him to hydrate and keep the gas tank topped up.
