They report still travelling. John said they were recently guests of Airbus Industrie in Toulouse for a week.

Hi Steve:
I saw your pile of books for summer reading and thought of an author I've been meaning to share with you. They are definitely lighter reading than your current list, but I have enjoyed them so much and kept thinking you might too, so I'm sharing them with you.
Perhaps you have heard of the author Gary Paulson? He is most well-known for his young adult story "Hatchet" about a young boy who is the only survivor of a small plane crash in Alaska, with nothing but a hatchet to help him. It is a very famous survival story---maybe even your grandson Finn has read it. Many of the incidents in the story are based on his own life experiences growing up in the wilds of northern Minnesota. He shares some of those in his book "Guts" a collection of short stories. As an adult he became involved with running sled dogs and eventually ran the Iditarod twice. He writes of those experiences in the books "Woodsong" and Winterdance". He also wrote an autobiography "My life in dog years".
These are all short books, pretty quick reads, and available at the public library. I was enthralled with his experiences running dogs and was given such a window into a world and life that I had never imagined. His stories of training for and then running the Iditarod are just spell binding and page turning! His love for animals and the beauties of the outdoors, particularly Alaska are wonderful to read.
BTW Paulson is still living -- probably about your age -- and living half time in New Mexico and half time on a boat with his artist wife. Pretty interesting self-made guy.
I kept thinking of passing this along to you, and your summer reading pile photo prompted me to follow through with sharing this.
As a librarian I know reading interests vary greatly and are very subjective, so if this does not capture your interest, I understand and take no offense!
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Love,
