Summary: 8 inches overnight snow. Variable lighting. Main lifts busy. Skied stash rich Peeler and Three Ply before crowd build up at Red Cloud. Lady Morgan had longest lines I've ever seen there. Glad to see the resort so busy, but, I go home early after ten great runs swishing through the pow!

Covid protocols increase the length of ski lift lines since not all chair seats can be used. Makes the resort look busier than it really is...though, still, there were plenty of people there today.

Future observers will look back on this period, and scratching their heads, ask, "why were there lift protocols when virus transmission outdoors was close to nil and when 99% of the healthy skiing cohort was not in a high risk category?"

This is not a criticism of Deer Valley. They are playing with cards issued to them by County Health officials. Public health officials have lost much credibility with their unnecessary, overbearing regulations. I expect (hope?) more citizen push back the next comparable go around.

REFLECTIONS FROM THE LIFT: Thank God for Joe Biden.

Biden is pushing hard on some exciting social initiatives which are likely to correct many of the dysfunctions in America that have been layered into our culture since the '60's.

One key initiative is Biden's getting behind the so-called "trans" movement. Individuals born as males are undergoing "sexual" therapies including castration, hormonal treatment and the surgical creation of female sex organs to become "females." The converse is true. Females "convert" to males as well.

Many of these new "girls" seek to compete in female organized/team sports.

Surgical alterations and hormone treatments do not alter the basic physiological (or genetic) characteristics that come from being born male. So, the transformed "girls" compete in girls sports at an advantage because they retain the physical qualities of males.

Aided by Biden's support, allowing trans men to compete as women will mark the demise of organized women's team sports. And this is a good thing. It is outright wrong to deceitfully encourage girls to dedicate time and energy into something where they can never reach the apex of human performance capability.

Women can never be the best soccer player or basketball player. But, they can be best at activities where their genetics and physiology give them an advantage: equestrian, shooting, dance, diving, some gymnastic routines, knitting (nimble fingers) etc.

Women should be encouraged to self fulfill...to reach the apex of human capability, as opposed to aspiring to a phony sense of accomplishment for what really is sub standard performance. We owe our women better than that. Thank you President Biden for recognizing this truth!

Freddie returns to Gilgal, one of Bishop's favorite SLC spots. Ranks with Bamberger Monument in Carbon County and Wyoming Southwest Corner Monument. There is a spot where vectors of weird, obscure, passion, and the iconoclastic intersect. Gilgal is there at the intersection...and I can sense that Freddie feels those vibes as well.
