You mentioned the chaos that is India today. Isn’t that the result of it’s being a democracy which produces all sorts of mayhem- since one has to constantly make choices and, therefore, live with the results. Much easier to have an “elite” make those decisions for you (socialism, fascism, communism, totalitarianism- however you wish to spell it).
