Family ski day! Problem is, the "kids" only want to go down steep bumps and chutes!

Above: Movie. "World War Z." I saw this movie today (home DVD). 29 February 2016

I read the novel, by Max Brooks, a year ago. I loved it. I thought the well written novel was a great metaphor for modern day civilization... if you are willing to conflate millennials with zombies, that is. Ie. In both cases, a dysfunctional cohort engages so as to take America down,

The movie did not follow the book to the letter, but its central elements were the same. The zombie plague, which nearly wipes out the world, is halted by the discovery at a WHO facility in Wales that the zombies are not interested in "sick" people. So, the authorities, in whatever remains of civilization, start inoculating healthy people with a controllable disease, thereby eliminating the zombie threat.

Think about it. Zombies are only one way to take down civilization. What are some other ways? Socialism? Communism? I visited Cuba a couple of years ago and saw first hand the depressing fruits of the socialist form of government. I visited eastern Europe and the USSR in the 60's and 70's and saw the same thing. Socialism - "beneficent, enforced" sharing - is, apparently, what the millennial generation wants, hence the conflation of zombies and the millennials. Millennials chosen form of government = Cuba.

Note: I know there are Millennial exceptions. In fact, 25% of that generation are the best ever. Broadly, however, the unparented, unguided cohort needs to wake up... or, they're going to cause some problems.

No skiing today. I stayed home and tried to catch up on "stuff" at my desk. County wants proof I'm leasing my 2nd home in town, necessary to get tax reduction. More. On our primary residence, our HELOC of 10 years expired... so I have to apply for another one. I've done ten or fifteen draws and pay downs over the last ten years. Why do I have to re apply? The Zions Bank underwriter of the HELOC said the county had put a judgement on my credit report and they couldn't proceed with the application until it was removed. I called the county and they said they had no judgement against me. You know.... that kind of stuff. It never ends.

Addendum:

Congrats to your grandson for dueling with one of the truly innovative drummers. Futureman is an amazing talent. And his brother, Vic is one of the best bassists on our planet. Both are SoundTube lovers - BTW. Caleb does a great job. Jeff Coffin too. They really care about making music great. We’ve been supporting them through our Respect The Music Foundation. Great guys! You are a lucky grandfather and also an amazing one for spending so so much time with your grandchildren. They are really the lucky ones. Wish my kids had had that opportunity. Good going Steve!
