Last year, Drums, a ninth grader at Treasure Mountain Middle School in Park City, UT, was notified he would be one of two drummers in the varsity, Park City High School Jazz band for the 21/22 school year. Tonight marks the band's first concert.

Eye and ear popping performance! Who needs paid acts coming into town when we have a home grown product which more than feigns Duke Ellington?

Drums has surprised at every level. Maybe, I should have more confidence. I'm always wondering if this laid back kid can make he grade at the next level. Then, I go to a concert and he outperforms! "How did he get that good," I ask myself. Tonight he had a couple of solo riffs. I thought I was listening to Gene Krupa!

His Dad was there getting video, which, I'm sure will serve him well in supporting his bid for a music scholarship in college.

The kid outshines as a Sophomore. He's got two years after this to up his drummer game in the Park City High School Jazz Band.
