Memorial Day. Praise to those soldiers and others who sacrificed at war time to make a ski day like this possible.
Last day of season. High up, pretty good. Towards the bottom, be careful of deep slush. Huff puff for me in slush conditions.

This vista is always a great reminder of how much Kennecott has added to Utah's economy, not to mention the underlying importance to our way of life of copper mined there.
When I was growing up, Kennecott was billed as the world's largest open pit mine.

No image entry. LSDM met with Hugh, TWO3, and Fenway. Got a lot of clean up work and organizing done. Participated in a conference call about possible sale of Miami asset we own. TIMDT grandmothering in SLC as Rudy Jr. and Portland were away for a day.
Addendum:
Steve,
The original nickname you gave me is Stihl, not Husqvarna. They are both large players in the outdoor power equipment business, I can see where one could easily substitute one company for the other. I'm a Stihl dealer. It was good to see you and Margaret at the reception. Thanks for the updates on your travels, I enjoy them.

Hi Steve,
I left a message for you at the Shore Cliff--I'm just five minutes away from you up the hill in Arroyo Grande! Would love to take you out for lunch or dinner and catch up....

Sorry to have missed a rendezvous. Will give a heads up next time thru.
My dad ( deceased December 2011) was also not a warrior, but was a patriot. Working in the steel industry starting in 1934, he was considered working in a war-vital industry and thus was not called up. He always regretted, though, not having served in the war. He later told me that my service in Vietnam Nam helped to ameliorate his regret.
