Agriculture (hay rolls) and pipeline plant. Oil and gas co exists with ranching on the 40 mile long county road segment of Piceance Creek.

Was not always so. Most of the oil and gas installations along this road were built during the Obama administration.

Credit President Obama for pulling the US out of a deep recession with a fracking assisted oil and gas production surge.
Under President Obama the US became energy independent, and for that President Obama deserves the gratitude of all Americans.

The most beautiful spot in the lower forty eight that no one knows about.

Final Thoughts

New places.... Great Sand Dunes National Park, Mesa Verde National Park, and Hovenweep National Monument. Also, Walsenburg, CO, where Alpine Rose was celebrating 46 years running her eponymous café. New Roads... segments of US 160, US 64 and CO SR 12. Top eating out was breakfast at the iconic Pasquale's in Santa Fe. Revisits.... Dinosaur National Monument. Bikes all performed great. We loved seeing all of the families on vacation.... especially the ones actually talking to one another as opposed to the others, with their faces in their devices. The American family vacation seems alive and well. Always great to ride with "old" motorcycle companions... lots of memories shared and aspirations discussed. Witnessing foundation for his and Pack Rat's new home in Durango was good, evidencing progress and renewal for a very fine couple. A very good, week-long, motorcycle ride. Somewhere around 2000 miles... didn't keep exact records.

Addendum:

Excellent write up ; fun to relive our adventure🏍

Steve,

You were in Glenwood Springs so close to Aspen. You, {Markco} and Elk should have come to Aspen for a visit and lunch.

Tom, Aspen, CO

Would have enjoyed. No time on this particular ride. Next time for sure.
