Picto Diary - 6, 7 July - Hie on Duc to Frisco

FREE CONCERT

Saturday, July 9 2016, 5:30 PM
Pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, CA
New Bop Big Band

"Buddy Rich" is one of the drummers for the New Bop Big Band.

If you're in the Bay Area and inclined to join, give me a heads up. I'll be there.

Above: Bishop (6 July 2016) observes fuel dock for coal fired cars...none around as this image is taken. Toys for rich guys, subsidized by American taxpayer. Only a 30 minute fuel up period and a 200 mile range! The Duc has a 200 mile range with a 3 minute fuel stop, using a far less polluting fuel.

Above: Rendu. Winnemucca Inn, Winnemucca, NV. 06 July 2016.

Bishop observes Duc at Winnemucca Inn. BW Gold Country was sold out.

Good to be on the bike today. 380 miles on the Duc. Better to be outside in the surroundings and not traveling in a cage.

Humboldt Link

Down the mighty Humboldt to the bottom of the sink.

After Pilot Peak, it's the California link.

Donner left to late, he didn't know about the gold.

Further on the fault, will it hold or will it fold?

Millions now await the haunting, looming quake.

I'll be in and out...here's hoping, for my sake.

Sierra Song

The 49ers came, the 49ers went.

They found enough gold to more than pay the rent.

UP arrived to pack the nation's mail.

Heralding an era of American rail.

Some came seeking the "Angle of Repose."

Some won, some lost. That's how it goes.

With slats they came to "Valley of the Squaw."

After Oly more came from near and far.

Now is Mwah (sic) here on the Duc.

I'll find some gold, with a bit of luck.
