The Catholic League

Great video (scroll) of Catholic League 50th anniversary dinner in New York City honoring, Bill Donahue, Executive Head of the Catholic League.

The Catholic League is an entity independent of the Catholic Church which advocates in the secular world for religious and civil rights. I've been impressed with the doggedness of Donahue for years. In this video he adeptly, with humor and enthusiasm, recounts some of his battles.

Other religion affiliated entities are out there fighting the good fight. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is relentless in confronting the growing antisemitism creeping into American life. The Muslim organization, Family and Youth Institute, has led in the fight against pornography. As American institutions (government, military, academia, big corporation) adopt the debilitating "religion" of wokeism the role of religion in fighting back is critical.

PS. The moderator for the Catholic League dinner honoring Donahue welcomes honored guests like Cardinal Dolan (Hoop's buddy). He then extends a warm welcome to all members of the FBI who are present. The audience breaks out in uproarious laughter! The dinner audience's forebears have been there before: US anti Catholic persecution was rife at the end of nineteenth century and at the beginning of the twentieth century. Catholic dinner goers, members of the Catholic League, don't seem to be afraid of this new fight against resurgent anti-Catholic discrimination. There is nothing new under the sun as the forces of good continue in their fight against the forces of evil.
