The Coming Energy Cliff for the United States - Mike Pompeo

By pumping two million barrels per day short of Trump years, the US is clearly, led by CA, PA, NY and other states cooperative with Biden's green agenda, headed for a Euro style energy crisis.

Even my own, safe, fly-over Utah, which has least expensive power rates in the country... $0.11 per kilowatt hour, is looking at looming energy crisis as its coal plants, which provide 70% of the state's power, are threatened with early closure. Colorado is leveraging the EPA to press for closure of Utah coal plants because of the CO2 "pollution" they send downwind to Colorado.

It is ironic that as California "virtuously" and aggressively closes down its non-green power sources in favor of "green" energy, it also imports a substantial portion of Utah's coal produced electricity. How exemplary! Let Utah and Colorado suffer California's CO2 "pollution!"

Interestingly, former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, in a sit-down with Hoover Director Condi Rice (also a former US Secretary of State) at Hoover Institution last week, which I attended, noted that the US has been living in an "energy fantasy" for the last fifty years. He called for the immediate ramping up and delivery of affordable (read fossil) energy. Though Pompeo paid obligatory, even if desultory, obeisance to global warming risks, this is the first time that I have seen a high-level pol not appear to be cowed by the green energy agenda.

Another nugget from Pompeo, who is from Kansas:

Kansas red wheat farmers are having a banner season as the other great world source of red wheat, Ukraine, is not producing. Next year, Kansas red wheat farmers are not going to be able to afford fertilizer.
