Anxious first day at seventy-nine years of age. As one grows older, one wonders if the muscle memory will return, if the stamina is there and the balance is functioning. I start today with but six runs and plan to work my way up by one more run each day until fifteen or sixteen runs at which point I'll ski most days at that level. With fifteen runs and a twenty-minute mid AM break, starting at 9:00 AM, I'm handing in my skis at the locker t 11:30 AM. Today was a good start. I skied easy runs and stayed upright during the entire effort.
